Chapter Awards

Once again, the National Awards Program will be one of the highlights at the 2024 National Philoptochos Biennial Convention in San Diego, California. Chapters will be recognized for their projects and achievements.

An Award Application must be completed electronically to be considered for the Outreach Ministry Award. Please include a photo of the project. Photos of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners will be included in a presentation at the conference. The Awards Committee will review each entry using a specially designed rubric. Applications and visuals must be received by Monday, May 6th, 2024, via email Communications@Philoptochos.org

Chapter Awards Letter

Chapter Honorees are selected in accordance with the following award criteria:

I. An Army of Agape - Outreach Ministry Awards (for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place) (complete form provided)

A deeply committed Philoptochos Chapter works together with Agape to positively impact the lives of those in need. Awards will recognize chapters whose members have advanced the philanthropic goals of our Society. Regardless of the project chosen, the aim is for each chapter's members to extend Agape, reaching out to assist the homeless, hungry, abused, underprivileged, and anyone requiring support.

II. Inspiring Women- Membership Growth & Participation (No form required)

Membership growth is imperative for the future of Philoptochos. Judges will consider the increase in total membership for the period of January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2023. Strong leaders demonstrate a unique ability to inspire and renew the spirit, which in turn contributes to the continuing growth and participation of the Society. A chapter may possess and make evident strong growth leadership in the following ways:

  • Recognizing and fostering personal growth
  • Building trusting relationships
  • Effectively persuading others using keen organizational awareness
  • Mentoring new members
  • Contributing to successful initiatives
  • Valuing the learning process and promoting collaboration
  • Awards will be given to winners in different chapter size categories for 1st and 2nd Place:
    • Chapters with 20 or fewer members
    • Chapters with 21-49 members
    • Chapters with 50-99 members
    • Chapters with 100-199 members
    • Chapters with over 200 members

III. Impacting the World - 100% Fulfillment of Chapter Commitments (No form required)

A deeply committed Philoptochos Chapter demonstrates a dedication to their philanthropic work, which enriches their community and the world around them. This quality manifests itself when chapter members:

  • Demonstrate an intense commitment to provide excellent services to their community.
  • Share their enthusiasm for philanthropy with others.
  • Work together as a team to fulfill their commitments, which helps our Philoptochos Society have a greater impact where needs are greatest.

The application below is only required for An Army of Agape -Outreach Ministry Awards project.

  1. Please submit only one project and one application for your chapter.
  2. Your completed application, including a visual (photo) of your project must be received by Monday, May 6, 2024.
  3. Please email this application and a project visual to: Communications@Philoptochos.org Include your Chapter Number and “Chapter Awards Application” in the subject line of your email.
